About the Founder
Sabiha Waheed
Sabiha Waheed was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1959. She received her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees from Karachi University, completed coursework in home economics and later worked as a high school teacher. After getting married in 1989, she moved to Chicago, Illinois. There, she was quite active in the Muslim community by being involved in various mosques/masajid by developing her Islamic knowledge and teaching basic Islamic knowledge to women and young girls.
In July 2002 she moved to Detroit, MI and continued advancing her Islamic education by attending courses at Al-Huda International. Some of the courses are Talimul-Qur’an, Ruhural-Qur’an Tabilatee Course, Sahih Bukhari, as well as Tajweed and Arabic Grammar courses. She completed a one-month intensive Arabic grammar course in 2012 at the Bayyinah Institute. She is a student of Dr. Farhat Hashmi, Ustadha Iffat Maqbool, and Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan. During her studies, she also taught Qur’anic courses to young girls and boys, as well as adult women.
Her journey of Qur’anic study is a continuous one. She is participating in a group class of Al-Huda International in different parts of the world. In the USA, she teaches Qur’anic Understanding to young girls and boys, as well as adult women, both in person and online.
She organized and conducted many Islamic programs for the Islamic Organization of North America (IONA) among which are Annual Hadith Competitions for boys and girls of ages 4-14, conferences, and interfaith outreach projects. Sabiha is involved in social welfare projects in the community and provides counselling for women with different domestic issues. Her mission is to promote the Qur’an to every hand and heart. To achieve her goal, she founded the Marium Qur’an Academy offering courses on Qur’anic Studies, Introduction to Qur’an for New Muslims, Qur’an and Science, Character Building, Personality Grooming (Adab-o-Akhlaq), Introductory Hadith for Early Age Youth, Sirah of the Prophet (SAW), Liberal Arts, Fine Arts, Cooking, Tailoring, Skill Building, Social Studies, Arabic, and Hifzh (Memorization) of the Qur’an.

We are pleased to announce that we have joined up with NurulQuran to provide Quranic Studies, Tafseer, and purification of the soul. May Allah accept our humble efforts and bless us with the delight of Paradise.
